THE DUNWICH HORROR (Multi-touch Application)August 2010
Role: creative concept, design, asset creation, animation & coding

For my final project I decided to participate in the Project Compendium at VFS. We were asked to create a a multi-touch interactive application based on different stories from H.P. Loftcraft.
Our story: The Dunwich Horror
Our Solution: an interactive digital book, that consists on the original story by H.P. Loftcraft, divided in 10 chapters. Each of this chapters contains an interactive puzzle, that the user has to solve with help from the original story.
The objective is to solve all the puzzles in order to open a secret chapter or passage, that takes the story to a complete different level.

ARETHA FRANKLIN POSTERFebruary 2010
Role: Graphic design, illustration

This projects brief was to design and produce a poster for a live music concert featuring music legend Aretha Franklin, intended to stimulate interest and engage the audience to attend the event.

After doing some research I found a strong representation of Aretha Franklin, a picture of her wearing a huge hat with a bow. I found this to be an unusual but recognizable way of portraying her.

My final result was this poster, which uses a combination of elements that will appeal her audience.

SNOWBOARD (Rorschach Board)December 2009
Role: Graphic design, illustration

This design is based on the Rorschach test, also known as the Inkblot test which is a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analyzed using psychological interpretation. This tests are basically used to examine a person's personality characteristics and emotional functioning, and by creating this board I am leaving it to the user to interpret the image on it.

TreeTypeDecember 2009
Role: Graphic design

The brief for this project was to create a Calligram, which is a poem, phrase, or word in which the typeface, calligraphy or handwriting is arranged in a way that creates a visual image.

My solution was to use one of my photos and recreated by using only typography. The photo I decided to use was a top view of a tree, taken with a Fish Eye. I thought this picture was an interesting view of something we see every day.

SHARK FINNINGDecember 2009
Role: Graphic design, concept development, animation, developing

Our objective was to create an interactive environment that provided information about a subject of your choice.

I chose to do this about Shark Finning. And based on this idea I decided to show the information from a diver's point of view towards the surface. It was a conceptual way of seeing this problem. The mood and style I went with was dark and mysterious, because there is sort of a mystery to everything that lives under water, but it is also beautiful, so I wanted to keep this as clean as possible.

PAINTED SKYFreelance Whales - "Starring"
April 2010
Role: Graphics design, creative concept, coding

Using object oriented programming (OOP) we were asked to create a conceptual art generation piece.

After doing some exercises in class, I was able to put together different interaction experiences to create a small world where the beat of the music creates a different pattern each time you play it. The colors in the sky are also determined by the weather in Vancouver, for example, if it's below 5 degrees Celsius the color palette are different shades of blue, but as it gets hotter it changes.
